Departing from Espousouille (1500-2000 m), this ride takes you through high altitude passes and valleys, before descending to more Mediterranean landscapes in Cathar Country, where dizzying fortresses dazzle us. Via old roads and "lost" trails, we find a wide variety of accommodations : lodges, country hotels, comfortable rooms and camping sites.

Meal and night in Artigues in a small village hotel.

Day 3 : Tuesday

A beautiful day in the mountains (at almost 2000 m of altitude) through forests and mountain pastures, with beautiful panoramas that will give you a feeling of true freedom. We then descend into Rébenty Valley before climbing up to the Sault Plateau.
Meal and night at a small campsite in the village of Espezel. (Night in a 1 or 2-person tent with a good mattress).

We leave Quirbajou and head for Marsa then Cailla. We continue our journey along the famous Cathar Trail towards Axat. We come within sight of the remarkable Puilaurens Castle, which stands on a rocky outcrop overlooking the village, surrounded by a forest of fir trees.
We continue along the Trail to our destination, where Colette and Christian, Aubrac cow breeders, await us in a small hamlet surrounded by nature at 650 m of altitude.
Meal and night in Aigues-Bonnes.

Day 6 : Friday

For this final day, our valiant travelling companions will head east towards Prugnane, passing close to the Galamus Gorges. We then climb to the Brézou sheepfolds for a picnic lunch.
